Hearing the Message of Life

Like many of the women who come into the Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Monique was sure she was pregnant – and sure an abortion was the only answer to an unplanned pregnancy. In her fear, Monique became defensive, insisting that she needed an abortion right away. But as our counselor offered a quiet, compassionate voice of wisdom, Monique began to ask questions.

Our counselor suggested that we arrange for an ultrasound and consultation with a nurse to answer her questions with medically accurate information. Monique agreed and soon she was staring at the features of her unborn baby. She lay on the exam table for a long time, asking her questions and listening as the nurse shared information and the message of life with Monique.

A few months ago, Monique returned to the Crisis Pregnancy Centers and asked to see the same nurse. She was proudly carrying her baby and wanted to show the nurse her precious child. When the nurse came into the room and began speaking, Monique’s baby turned his head toward her and began cooing and smiling!

We’ll never know whether this baby remembered the voice that had spoken life to his mother while he was forming in her womb. But we do know that the voice and loving message our nurse shared with Monique resulted in the birth of this precious baby boy.
