CPC Volunteer Receives National Recognition

It was a proud moment as Executive Director John Tabor looked on as Judy Wonders (RN) received the President’s life time achievement Volunteer Freedom Award from Assistant Secretary for Health, Admiral Joxel Garcia. Standing in the Old Executive Office Building next to the White House, Judy was honored as an exemplary volunteer for her service and commitment to the Crisis Pregnancy Centers.

“Judy is the founder of our ultrasound medical application for CPC,” explains John Tabor. “She researched what was needed to begin the program, wrote the policies and procedures regarding the medical protocol, recruited doctors and nurses, and oversaw compliance. She even found a used, oversized ultrasound machine and got it donated to begin this aspect of our ministry.”

Out of those extraordinary first efforts, the Crisis Pregnancy Centers now has an ultrasound machine at each of our locations in the community. Judy oversees the use of these machines at each facility and trains the nurses that perform the ultrasounds. She finds the most satisfaction, however, in performing the ultrasounds herself and watching as a young woman looks at the face of her unborn child.

Our heartfelt thanks and congratulations go out to Judy on receiving this recognition for her volunteer service to our ministry!
